The Lake Worth Playhouse is a not-for-profit community theatre that provides entertainment, education, and opportunities for artistic expression through volunteerism and community involvement and support. The Playhouse is a vital component of the Lake Worth Community as well as the Palm Beach County cultural community and serves a broad cross section of the population with performances, programs and outreach for children, teen-agers, residents and visitors. First and foremost a Community Theater in the true tradition, the Playhouse produces six high quality musicals and dramas on its main stage each year, drawing on its large, dedicated and talented roster of volunteers who work on stage, back stage and 'front of house'. Last year, with the addition of concerts, films and children's theatre programs the Playhouse increased its programming from 92 to almost 1400 presentations.
