It's a quiet Monday morning. In a hopelessly cramped and secluded construction office tucked below the sun-scored L.A. streets, June Ballard (Amanda Duarte) is having another panic attack. On the radio, a crazed host proclaims the end of civilization. In other news, the oceans belch plastic waste, wildfires blaze across the east, the Southland enters its nineteenth day of record-breaking heat, unemployment's shamefully high, and somewhere in the ether, two disembodied voices sing a lonesome lullaby... Before next Monday, June will fall helplessly in love, shaking her world to its core.
