On Stage With Alvin Waddles: Fats Waller Revue Tickets and Information
Synopsis
Fans of the Auditorium Theatre's popular Too Hot to Handel: The Jazz-Gospel Messiah will recognize the standout talents of pianist Alvin Waddles and bassist Marion Hayden. The duo will bring the On Stage With? series to a thrilling climax with Fats Waller Revue, a special evening that pays tribute to the infectious melodies, wit, whimsy and wonderful legacy of the legendary Fats Waller. Rounded out by Detroit jazz luminaries Charlie Gabriel and Alex Trajano, this exuberant quartet will capture the spontaneous mirth and magic of favorites such as "Ain't Misbehavin'," "Two Sleepy People" and "Your Feet's Too Big." The On Stage With? series transforms the splendid Auditorium Theatre into an intimate 1940s-style cabaret club complete with tables, cocktail service and light appetizers. The audience is treated to an unforgettable performance while enjoying the magnificent view of the Auditorium Theatre's Louis Sullivan-designed interior from a vantage point typically reserved for the performers. 2008 marks the third year that the cabaret series has been offered; also, for the first time, a fourth concert has been added.
