Gertler, Glick, Hollinger, Irwin, Powell, Segal, et al. to Present at Barrymore Awards

Presenters have announced for the Barrymore Awards honoring the best of Philadelphia-area theater, to be held Monday, October 6 at 6:30pm at the Crystal Tea Room in the Wannamaker Building.

This year's presenters will include Mayor Michael Nutter, as well as Tony Braithwaite, Aaron Cromie, Will Gertler, Gideon Glick, Joe Guzman, Shelly Hicklin, Michael Hollinger, Bill Irwin, Ben Lipitz, Sally Mercer, Lisa Nutter, Cathy Simpson, Tobias Segal, Robert Smythe, Gary Steuer, Maureen Torsney-Weir, and Mark Zimmerman.

As previously announced the Walnut Street Theater's production of Les Miserables earned 11 nominations, including Outstanding Production of a Musical and for director Mark Clements, lead actors Hugh Panaro and Paul Schoeffler, supporting actors Jeffrey Coon and Scott Greer, supporting actresses Julie Craig and Christina DeCicco, musical director Douglass G. Lutz, costume designer Colleen Grady, and Outstanding Ensemble in a Musical.

The show's competitors in the musical field include 11th Hour Theatre Company's The World Goes 'Round, Arden Theatre Company's Assassins, Azuka Theatre's Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and the Walnut's own The Irish...And How They Got That Way.

Contenders in the Outstanding Overall Production of a Play category include Interact Theatre Company's Frozen, Lantern Theater Company's Skylight, The People's Light & Theatre Company's Six Characters in Search of an Author, Theatre Exile's Bug, and The Wilma Theater's Eurydice.
