Tony Awards, David, Nixon, Turman, et al. Win Creative Emmy Awards

The 6ist Annual Tony Awards was named Outstanding Special Class, Awards Program at the 2008 Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, which were hosted by Neil Patrick Harris and Sarah Chalke on Saturday, September 13 at Los Angeles' Nokia Theater.

The awards will air as a two-hour TV special on E! on Saturday, September 20. Presenters at the ceremony include Jennifer Beals, Valerie Bertinelli, John Cryer, Alan Cumming, Tom Hanks, Joe Mantegna, Lee Pace, Oliver Platt, Chloe Sevigny, and Sarah Silverman.

Other notable winners include actors Cynthia Nixon for her guest turn on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit; Glynn Turman for his guest spot on HBO's In Treatment, and Keith David for Outstanding Voice-Over Performance for narrating PBS The War: A Necessary War; Live from Lincoln Center's presentation of New York City Opera's Madame Butterfly for Outstanding Special Class, Classical or Dance Program; and HBO's Autism: The Musical for Outstanding Special.

In related news, former Sweet Charity star Christina Applegate has joined fellow Broadway veterans Kristin Chenoweth, Laurence Fishburne, Neil Patrick Harris, Felicity Huffman, Christian Slater, and Vanessa Williams on the list of presenters for the 60th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, to be held on Sunday, September 21 at the Nokia Theater and aired live on ABC-TV.

Other presenters will include Candice Bergen, David Boreonaz, Wayne Brady, Lauren Conrad, Jimmy Kimmel, Kiefer Sutherland, Dana Delany, William L. Petersen, America Ferrara, Hayden Panetierre, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Kathy Griffin, Don Rickles, Tina Fey, Hugh Laurie, Julia Louis-Dreyfuss, Conan O'Brien, and Amy Poehler.
