The CD of the Broadway revival of Gypsy , starring Tony Award winners Patti LuPone, Boyd Gaines, and Laura Benanti, will be released by Time Life Records on August 26. As previously reported, a signing and discussion with the stars and other cast members, to be moderated by Patrick Pacheco, will be held at the Barnes & Noble Lincoln Triangle at 5pm on Thursday, August 28.
In addition to including the current Jule Styne-Stephen Sondheim score for the show, which features such showstoppers as "Everything's Coming Up Roses" and "Rose's Turn," the CD includes numerous never-before-recorded songs that were cut from the show's original Broadway production, and an alternative version of one of those songs, "Mother's Day."
The show's cast also features Leigh Ann Larkin, Tony Yazbeck, Marilyn Caskey, Alison Fraser, Lenora Nemetz, Bill Bateman, Jim Bracchitta, Sami Gayle, Bill Raymond, and Emma Rowley. Musical direction is by Patrick Vaccariello.
