The original Broadway cast recording of the Tony Award-winning musical Jersey Boys has been certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The CD also won the Grammy Award.
The musical is about Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito, and Nick Massi. A group of blue-collar boys who became an American pop music sensation as Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. The cast recording features such Four Seasons hits as, "Sherry", "Big Girls Don't Cry", and "Walk Like A Man".
Written by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, with music by Bob Gaudio, and lyrics by Bob Crewe, Jersey Boys premiered at La Jolla Playhouse, October 17, 2004, and opened at the August Wilson Theatre on Broadway on November 6, 2005. There is also a national tour and sit-down production scheduled to begin performances in Las Vegas on April 4.
